Denver's great Accord drawing reminded me that I never shared the final product. It's still missing a side mirror. I might fix that eventually. I don't do well with 3D drawing by hand, so I think I'll continue to stick to 2D stuff.
Drawings 2 and 3 have already commenced, but it will be a bit until I find the time to finish them. Let's just say both drawings are related, and don't fall far from the Symmetrical AWD tree.

Thanks! I ended up finishing drawing 2. It's about as opposite as you can get from the SVX.

I can definitely tell it's an outback, but the proportions are off. Keep at it, proportions were the hardest thing for me to master.

I appreciate the feedback.
The odd thing is that the proportions look further off in the photo than they do on the drawing. There are definitely some aspects that don't look right, such as the A pillar (which I plan on fixing), however, the photo makes the entire car look squished (especially towards the back). That's what I get for taking the picture with a smartphone.

Ya, I notice even my drawings do that in photos. I figured out it was because of a tilt angle in the camera position. Now, when I take photos of my drawings I make sure to take the photo with the camera vertically aligned to the drawing. You cant do it perfectly every time, but you can come close. I actually find that a smartphone camera easier to align than a DSLR. thats why most of my drawing photos look off right now, I have no smartphone at the moment.

Well it's a hell of a lot better than I can do. Mine end up looking like really unhappy Beetles with non-circular wheels. And it's obviously an SVX, so that's another point. You win this round.

I want to take a second to thank all you guys that post your drawings and designs. It helps keep me motivated.... I have been going crazy working on my portfolio and was starting to forget about the greatness of why i was designing in the 1st place. Don't worry too much about perspective, it more or less is too look pretty and "sell" your design. the classic 2D engineering views are the ones that count. I don't know maybe one day if there is enough interest, I will write a little something. maybe post a drawing or 2 of mine, give a quick tutorial on how to start drawing in perspective and taking 2d and how to translate into 3d... BUT anyways, Real nice drawing, love the SVX, but please design it around a manual. ANd most importantly... HAVE FUN! ;)

oh and one quick tip. go ahead and use a ruler for the ground going from tire to tire, it will keep everything a bunch tidy'er.

Thanks! I've really been enjoying drawing these. I've been aiming to draw these as "caricatures" so to speak, capturing the essence of the car without striving for absolute perfection of the details (mainly since I'm no where near the level of a true artist). It's been a fun little exercise so far, and I'm noticing a lot of the little details that are easy to miss when looking at the real thing. I definitely plan on continuing, and seeing how my skills develop.

You are welcome! I remembered a site when I saw another drawing post. I used it a lot in design school. I think you can find it useful. http://www.carbodydesign.com/tutorials/2d/
